I am so excited to share my new card deck, Radical Self-Care When You Are Ill: 52 Skills and Affirmations to Help You Restore Your Well-Being: Physical, Emotional and Mind-Body-Spirit. It has been many years in the making and fulfills a promise I made to God many years ago.

These skills and affirmations are designed to help those Radical Self-Care When You Are Illwho feel like they’ve tried everything but are still suffering with mysterious illness, chronic illness such as Fibromyalgia, arthritis, diabetes, or heart disease, mental health issues such as depression and anxiety and illness that has been deemed terminal. Mind-Body-Spirit Self-Care. Skills to help you find ways to be of service; to strengthen your social support system; to solidly your reasons for getting well and to tap into the power of your spiritual beliefs and divine love to enlist the aid of a higher power to access unconditional love and healing,

Mindful Affirmations for Healing. Positive affirmations that reinforce the other skills in the card deck by providing practice shifting mindset, emotions and behavior to help improve self-care and to allow healing. These help you stay laser focused on self-care and healing.

The Radical Self-Care When You Are Ill: 52 Skills and Affirmations to Help You Restore Your Well-Being card deck was born out of my personal journey and my life’s work. I had been ill with mysterious symptoms that doctors couldn’t figure out, diagnose or effectively treat for more than 15 years. Eventually diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Leaky Gut and Chemical Sensitivities I found a variety of traditional and alternative treatments that gradually helped. Incorporating mindfulness and meditation into my daily life and learning about the power of our thoughts and divine connection in creating well-being were central components of my healing.

My journey through illness transformed me as a human and spiritual being and changed everything about my life. This included where I lived, my marriage, my career, my knowledge about nutrition, my ability to deal with the medical and alternative medical community, using mindfulness and meditation in my healing journey, deepening my faith and spirituality, strengthening my mental health, and expanding my self-awareness and self-care.

One night in the midst of my chronic illness, from a place of deep dark despair I prayed (yet again) and asked God to please help me get well. As always, I thanked God for helping me get well. This night I went further. I promised God that when I got well, I would write about the skills I learned through my healing journey to help people who were dealing with illness in the hopes that using these skills would make their journey much easier than mine had been. I vowed to provide skills to help them take the best care of themselves during illness and help them tap into the innate power of their body to heal itself. I promised that the skills would also help them with the frustration, discouragement, depression, helplessness, hopelessness, loss, isolation and fear that so commonly accompany illness.
