A Quantitative Encephalograph (QEEG) is a classic EEG that is compared to a normative data base of brainwaves. A statistical analysis is done to show precisely where in the brain the brainwaves and communications within the brain are normal or out of norm.

The QEEG above shows that theta in the front of the brain is three standard deviations above the norm. One study found that this pattern is found in 92% of people with ADHD.

This QEEG shows a pattern often found in depression. Notice the alpha brainwave is three standard deviations larger than normal in the left prefrontal area (the red).

The information provided by a QEEG is extremely helpful in designing the treatment protocols used in Neurofeedback. Studies show that the QEEG will be more normalized after Neurofeedback treatment is complete.
